Meet Brian
A Proven Leader. A True Neighbor. Your Voice.
A resident of Ward Two for 35 years, Brian raised his three children in Fonthill, where they went to school and participated in many community sports and social activities. He is 70 years of age and has been married to Karen for 35 years. Brian is the proud grandfather of two teenage grandchildren, Leighton & Ava. He is a member of Lookout Point Golf Club.

Brian’s long-standing dedication to Pelham is evident through his community work, including:

Served as Committee Chair of the 2005 Special Olympics Summer Games.

Was a Past Member and past President of the Board of Directors for Family and Children’s Services Niagara (13 years).

Was a Past Member and Chair of the Niagara Victims Crisis Support Service (6 years).

Has coached many Minor League teams in various sports.

He is an active volunteer for both the Pelham Food Drive and Summerfest.
Proven Leadership, Experience, and Accountability
Brian Eckhardt brings 36 years of experience from the Niagara Regional Police Service as a Retired Inspector. His career included:

Dealing with high-profile cases involving all levels of government.

Serving as a Member (Vice Chair) of the Ontario Association of Chiefs of Police Victims Committee and the Diversity and Indigenous Committee.

Work on Traffic Safety Committees across several municipalities.
Currently, Brian has served as the Deputy Mayor for the last two years. He is a strong believer in financial accountability and transparency, with experience from multiple financial oversight roles:

Responsible for multi-million dollar budgets within the Niagara Regional Police Service.

Member of the Finance and Audit Committee.

Member of the Pelham Active Transportation Committee.

President and Treasurer of a professional consulting business.
